The table below shows the number of medals won by the top ten countries in the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The given table illustrates 10 top ranking nations that won the medals in the London Olympic Games in 2012.
Overall, it is clearly visible from the graph that the United States obtained the highest number of medals while the least number of medals was obtained by Hungary in this Olympic Games.
As is seen from the table, the USA had the highest number of medals (104), and they also got the highest number of Gold and Silver recorded as 46 and 29 respectively. China held the second position with 88 medals which included 38 Gold, 27 Silver and 23 Bronze. Russia won more medals in total than the UK but still was at 4th position because UK participants won more Gold medals. Similarly, though Germany obtained a higher number of total medals (44) than South Korea (28), it is at the 6th position, after the latter at 5th , as they got more gold medals.
Hungary had the lowest total medals in comparison with all the countries at 17 and it had the lowest total of both bronze and silver. In the case of gold, it had the same number as Italy, 8 medals each. Australia had the lowest number of gold medals, just 7, but it had more silver and bronze medals than France, Italy and Hungary.
